• Soundproof is on the Mac App Store. Same app, same on-device cleanup, same one-time unlock — bought and updated through Apple if you prefer that. The direct download is unchanged and still available.

Fixed

• Video exports from ProRes, AV1 and MJPEG sources no longer fail. The cleaned file was being written correctly and then deleted by a check that could not read those formats back. Exports from these sources now complete normally. H.264 and HEVC were never affected.

Improved

• Exports hold a true-peak ceiling. Loudness limiting now accounts for peaks that occur between samples, which is what actually clips after a file is encoded to MP3 or M4A. Previously a cleaned file could sit under the ceiling on paper and still overshoot once encoded.
• The preview now matches the exported file. Draft playback lands within 0.5 dB of what gets written to disk, and the preview and export limiters follow the same gain envelope, so what you audition is what you save.
• Your chosen preset and cleanup depth are restored on the next launch, while one-off adjustments made during a session stay with that session.

• Automatic updates. Soundproof can now check for new versions and install them for you. Your recordings and filenames are never part of an update check, and you can switch it off under Updates in Settings.
• More formats. Added OGG audio, and MKV, WebM and AVI video, alongside the formats already supported.

Improved

• Cleaned video exports are now verified before they are kept, so an export that fails partway can no longer leave a broken file in your output folder.
• Export As now keeps the format you chose. A filename whose extension does not match the selected format is rejected instead of producing a file that will not open as its name suggests.
• The File and Controls menus now appear as intended, including Export As, the Export Format submenu, and the playback, preset and strength commands.

Fixed

• Free exports are counted correctly when more than one export runs at the same time.
• OGG files now behave the same way in preview and in export.
