Local processing is one part of a responsible workflow. We document the app's file handling, network behavior and support boundaries for reviewers and procurement teams.
No audio-processing cloud
The bundled model runs on the Mac. Soundproof does not receive, store, inspect or train on recordings processed in the app.
Separate purchase traffic
Payment and entitlement providers process purchase information. The recording is not included in activation or restoration checks.
Support is opt-in
Support receives a recording only if someone deliberately attaches it to an email. Sensitive recordings should not be sent for support.

Does Soundproof claim to be HIPAA or GDPR compliant?
No. Compliance applies to an organization's full technical and administrative workflow, not to a noise-removal feature in isolation. Soundproof documents its local-processing design so your organization can evaluate it.
Can we verify that cleaning works offline?
Yes. The model is bundled with the app and recording cleanup works with Wi-Fi turned off. A purchase or restoration may need a separate online entitlement check.
Does Soundproof change the original recording?
No. It exports a separately named cleaned copy. For evidentiary or regulated material, retain the original and follow your organization's rules for derivative files.
Can several people use one purchase?
An individual license is for one person. Teams can request a multi-seat quote and invoice from the team licensing page.
Does it remove other people speaking in the background?
Sometimes, but not reliably. Soundproof is strongest on steady noise such as fan, AC, hum and hiss. Background speech and room echo may remain.
